I've done a crapload of searching on here and found similar issues but not the same as the one I'm having.

2 things.

I just put a mustang engine in this thing and it was running great. I got on the highway, was going through the gears fine, until the top of third, i heard a lound clank and didn't think much of it. I got off at the exit (still driving fine) and stopped at a stop light. Went to take off and the car just reved. I said ****! cars honking at me, etc...I tried putting it in 1st, then 2nd, .... no dice...my buddy pushed me to the gas station down the road and I realized reverse worked. I parked it at the pump and left it running. Checked the fluid level and it's all the way full.

What model transmission is this?

Should I just try to get one from a junkyard local and say fk it?

This truck I bought cheap because it had been submerged in a lake (about 3 feet) and the motor hydrolocked, so I took another motor and put it in. I re-used the original transmission/torque converter with fresh fluids. What should I do?! HELP!

You have a 4R70W.

No forward gears at all.... connected to a bad noise....

This is not good. I can hypothesize a number of scenarios, all bad. I think it is rebuild time. I think you are going to find something broken in the innards. Probably the forward clutch or main planetary.

Sorry for the bad news.

thanks for the help

Did you do anything to figure out what was the problem with your trans?

nope!

just took the trans out and gave up! bought a bronco and put it up for sale! first 1000 takes it with the mustang motor in it.

*update*

Got this thing running like a champ and decided to keep it!

The trans had a bunch of bad clutches and the converter was shot.

Rebuilt the tranny, got a new converter, and this thing runs like a raped ape!
