1998 Explorer 5.0 “Restoration2021” project

If its a posi or lsd i bet it would roast those tires lol
Well…. Considering that i have different wheels to mount the new tires on when i get them. Maybe i can make a little burn out video. And this truck does have Traction Loc and 3.73 gears. I bet we can make some smoke.

My 4.0 sohc has 3.55 open and it'll burn that passenger tire off lol i bet you can make it smoke out your street

Living in Las Vegas these old tires are really dry too. I figure you are correct that we can smoke them up.
Yep, get ready for a smoke show

I'm going to pick up a nice set of used tires tomorrow for $150. After that it needs an alignment and a smog test here in Nevada and it will get license plates. Much closer to the end. Working on putting the interior together right now.

Don't forget the burnout lol

Yeah! Smoke em till the bead fails! We need documentation

I want a burn out.
Reading between the lines-- guessing @Lee's Automotive likes burn outs.
We are close! Give me a week. Been busy lately. Need to mount the new tires then get a proper alignment. Working out all the details.. I still need to work out the cold stalling issue, but I need to keep moving forward to the end.

I installed the rear interior trim panels 2 days ago. Did the cowl trim a week ago. It's always the little stuff that slows down a project.

@SuperGordo I don't know how I overlooked your restoration thread. Just yesterday I started on my '97 MM 5.0 "refurbishment". I was starting with the water pump and timing chain and got hung up on the radiator and condenser removal.
I'm glad to see you saving a '98 Gen II 5.0. Many savable ones of the have ended up getting parted out. The Gen II's were well built from the factory and have a timeless design.
Anyone that hasn't done the "Super Clean" to one of these interiors may not see how much work it takes to get one all cleaned up. There is a lot of real estate in a 4dr liftgate vehicle. Not to mention the mechanical thoroughness that you are doing under hood.
Nice work!

"Real Estate" is the perfect way to describe the interior! Thanks for taking a look. Almost at the end.

Burnouts are fun
Then you break the transmission
And that sucks
