1998 Explorer Sport Fender Flares

Hey everyone I have a Black '98 2wd Sport and was wondering would it look bad if I took my fender flares off and spot welded the holes it leaves behind? I'm going to leave the factory front/rear bumpers on and paint them black because I'm blacking the whole thing out. Personal opinions?

As long as you do a good job of welding the holes shut it will look fine. Black plastic plugs would be another option. That would give it a riveted look.
