1998 Explorer Sport Fender Flares

[98 Exploder Sport]

Hey everyone I have a black '98 Sport and I'm planning on painting the front/rear bumpers black because I'm blacking it out. My question is, if I take my fender flares off and had the holes it leaves behind spot welded would that look bad? Personal opinion?

If you mean just blobs of weld, yeah that would look bad. If you mean grinding the spots down, then body filler and painting, depends on the quality of the paint job.

There's an indentation behind the rear wheelwells on the Sports that will look bad when the fender flares are removed. Personally I'd leave the flares on and paint them the same color as the bumpers.
