hey all sometimes when shifts into overdrive shifts in hard then when go to slow down and rpms drop down truck will sound like its viberating and not downshifting right then stall out it will restart right away and if keep foot on brake when shifting into gear will stall again unless you keep rpms up just a hair then you can drive away and may not do this again for a couple days any ideas out there it left the wife stranded last night on way home from work and want to make sure i can keep her safe so any help would be a blessing thanks to all and can see i am going to be enjoying your site a lot

Hmmm the stalling sounds very much like the torque convertor is not unlocking. Do you have a flashing OD light?

have not seen the light flash but am going to be watching for it next time it happens

When something goes wrong and the computer senses it, it will go into Failure Effect management Mode (FMEM). Shifts will be hard because the computer essentially tells the transmission to run up pressures, in order to "limp" home. This results in hard shifts. I am betting your TCC (Torque convertor clutch) solenoid is out of tolerance and the computer is sensing something awry. Several things could cause the TC not to unlock when the vehicle is below a certain speed or the brake pedal is pushed.... I'll bet there is a stored code...
