What an awesome website! Everyone here is really a big help. Hoepfully I can get some help on my issue. I noticed that my oil pan appears to be leaking a little bit. I am assuming the gasket is shot, so in order to replace the gasket or the pan itself, will I have to lift the engine? Can I change this out by just going underneath and unscrewing any bolts? I have a 1998 Ford Explorer 4X4 SOHC. Any tips or answers would be awesome!

Thanks Brooklyn Bay. Im still a little know. Thanks Joe for the feedbacka and I saw that post well before I posted my thread. If you read closely he says its a 98 with a 2000 motor. It's not a stock 98 explorer. Thank you for the feedback though!

You haven't been around long enough to know... But my 98 also has a 2000 motor in it thanks to an engine replacement at 23,000 miles. Either way, the pans are the same from '97 on up to at least 2001.
