Hey folks,

Haven't been around in a while; been extremely busy. But I've got a question for y'all:

Anybody here changed the oil pan gasket in a 4.0L SOHC???

Obviously, I know what the book procedure says about it, but I was just wondering if any of you had any experience doing this and might have some tips or tricks to throw out there.

***edit*** I'm referring to the upper portion of the two-piece pan, here....Not just the lower stamped portion.

Any chatter at all about this job would be greatly appreciated! I have a leak at the front of the pan that drips about four to five drops within the first twenty minutes of the engine being shut down and then it doesn'tleak any more after that. I didn't notice it until the stain on my driveway got big enough to grab my attention.

Thanks guys!

The lower is a piece of cake. From what I understand, the only way to get the upper out is to yank (or at least partially) the engine.

FWIW, the service manual calls it the Ladder Frame, but doesn't list anythign specific for servicing it... sorry.
