My Explorer has an issue when the outside temperature is above 85 degrees, The vehicle turns over fine but does not fire at all. There is no gas smell either so it is either something with fuel to engine or spark production but only when warm. The vehicle has stalled once while driving when it got warm outside but as soon as temperature cooled off vehicle started and was driven home, The temperature gauge fro the engine does not register hot.

Any ideas?

sounds like a coolant issue. a couple things you can look for if it may be the case:

is the car overheating? you said when it got cold out it started again. Do you think it was because the engine got cooler?

Do you have heat? feel the floor on the passegner side, is it wet? does it smell like anti-freeze?

On your water pump there is a tiny hole called a "weep hole" in the corner underneath the pulley. is it wet?

if you can start the car and wait a few minutes, is the radiator hose gaining pressure, is it hot?

Thermostat, heater core, water pump are common trouble areas for this vehicle.

Thanks for the reply but the engine shows no signs of overheating, Coolant level is fine -no leaks no steaming etc.

Fuel pump.

Have you checked for fuel or spark when this occurs? check the coil pack for rust/and good ground if a spark issue, check fuel pump if no fuel.
