Coming up on my third time replacing this. First time it was old and rusted. Replaced rear brake line that runs across the axle and the brake hose. Made it 3 1/2 years and last April it was leaking where the rear passenger side brake line meets the brake hose. Everything was tight but again, I replaced the brake line and hose to be safe. Now, here it is again. Same thing, same spot. Everything is tight and it's bleeding brake fluid at that spot. Went ahead and ordered both parts the brake line and hose. I'm assuming it's vibration causing this? Not sure what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you place the hard line across the top of the diff under the clips on the diff?

Are you making your own line (including flaring it), or getting pre-made line (universal), or the specific Ford part #?

If making your own from bulk line, odds are the flares aren't good enough. Universal pre-flared line, when I did my '98 I got some pre-flared AGS Poly Armour Brake Line from Autozone, PAX-351, 3/16" x 51", but then when I got around to doing it, decided I better do the front to rear (and eventually the rest) and got bulk line for that. I got the loaner brake flare tool from Autozone and it was a piece of junk, incapable of making decent flares so wound up buying a flare tool.

The AGS has not leaked yet, but has only been on a bit over 4 years, screwed into what was it... Sunsong hose/fitting, though in a Raybestos box (waste of a buck and a half trying to buy name brand), from Rock Auto.

I replaced my lines with Nickel-Copper Brake Line. 20 years no leaks or problems.

^ Wow, you needed new brake lines when it was only 6 years old?

They salt the roads here even if it "might" snow and I usually get closer to 20 yrs. Granted, my '98 is no longer a daily driver, nor were any older vehicles I've had, get delegated down to less frequent use as they get older but it was one of my daily drivers for the first ~15 years.
