1998 with 2WD AOD Tranny issue

I had my truck do something really funny a few weeks ago. While driving about an hour from home, the dash light that indicates that the OD on the transmission is on/off started flashing. I didn't touch the button on the shift lever to initiate this by messing with the switch. It just started happening all by itself. The functionality of the tranny didn't change an after I stopped to check the fluid level and verifying that it was full, then we went on our merry way. We then stopped for the rest of the afternoon and proceeded to drive home several hours later. As soon as I started her up the OD light went to flashing. After driving for about 10 minutes , it stopped flashing as suddenly as it had started. It has now been more than 2 weeks and the problem has not returned. Any issues that I should look out for?

I need to revive this issue because it has never been resolved. In fact I'm having a heck of a time determining what transmission I even have the numbers from the ID tag on the transfer case it reads. "98GT CBA 07 M 04" Still what transmission do I have? There is also nothing that refers to the tranny type on the sticker in the driver's door. Can someone help please???
