1999 4X4 Ranger

4X4 not engaging, lights on but no 4 wheel drive. I'm new here and I am asking for some advice on why I'm not getting in 4x4 when I turn the switch. Fallowing procedure, light is on, but it's not engaging. I have been looking around on this forum and have found some great input from others. Troubleshooting it, does anyone have any ideas were I can start looking to fix the issue? Thanks, Faron

You probably have the PVH POS system like me. Can you tell I'm bitter

Think they only ran from 1998-2000 because they were that bad. I just did this:

Mine kept failing to engage after checking all the vacuum connections etc. The Tcase motor worked and would engage, the light would stay on too but the hubs wouldn't lock. Now I'm running live front axles like my KJ. I should say I'm pretty sure the seals in the hubs are shot so the pulse of vacuum doesn't do its thing.

I'll probably put some AVM hubs on soon but for now I'm locked and live.
