1999 EB 5.0 misfiring after replacing plug wires

I'm puzzled. Please help ASAP. I thought I might have failed to make correct connections the coil pack. I found one source that showed the left (passenger side) pack wiring as follows (from 10:30 o'clock clockwise my connects are) 4,7,2,8.
For the right coil pack my connections (again 10:30 o'clock clockwise) are 3,5,1,6
I need verification that these are the correct connections for the respective cylinders. If they are, I may have received some bad new wiring (Bosch Premium Wire Set) Any other thoughts? Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

I would try looking in a Haynes or Chilton's manual for this information.

I think you have 1 and 6 crossed

I mistakenly reported the right coil pack connections. I've got the plug wires right. Darn it! I was hoping that was my problem. The Bosch wires set I purchased didn't have the metal shielding on 3, 4 & 7 so I carefully reused the old shields. They seemed to fit fine (perfect compatibility) with the new plug boots. Could this be causing my a problem? Is it more likely that I have a bad (new) wire. I'm very careful and meticulous so careless install shouldn't be a cause for my problem.

When to church and came home and fixed my problem. I did indeed have two plug wires reversed (#s 7 & 8). Must have had a Homer Simpson moment yesterday. Thanks to all who replied. I try to contribute something useful to sometime. I'm really good at fixing the Explorer heater blend door problem. My '96 developed that problem!

Dang, MountaineerGreen, that is a sweet diagram. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Need to do one of those for the 4.0 and all the newer engines and make it a sticky.

Probably need to put an arrow on it cause for sure someone will ask which end of the picture is supposed to be the front of the truck!

Thanks. I drew that when I had to remove all my plug wires for my header install- I am glad I posted it to here because I have referenced it many times since.
