1999 explorer question

I just purchased a 1999 ford explorer limited and from what i no i have the premium sound package, i got a subwoofer in the back but it is not on does anyone no how to turn it on???

AFAIK it should come on whenever the radio/cd player is on...

Welcome, the stock stereos in those with a sub is called the MACH radio, it is made by Pioneer. The "PREMIUM" radio(also made by Pioneer) did not have a sub in the back, but they look the same on the display. I suggest that you get the removal tool($4) and pull the HU out enough to read th labels on it. The Mach radio will say "MACH" on the exterior somewhere.

Does the display work, because that is a defect of all of those Mach and Premium HU's? The repair is about $60 total, the display board has poor soldering joints on it. The replacement boards don't have that issue. Regards,
