now im getting p1780 when i run the test

re did the right way and it was off drove it reverse worked for two seconds but had to wait forever to get in gear speed sensor out of range still showing p0715

Since you dropped the pan I'm guessing that you replaced the filter. Did the filter have the o rings on each side of the tubes that go into the valve body and did you tighten the filter up tight enough.

yeah i put new o rings on i checked that out again too but nope no prob there im trying to get the shaft speed sensor i cant get the screw to budge i tried sockets turned out it was an allen key i tried 4mm and a standard size allen kiy and they slip do they make a 4.5mm hex key if not im lost the damn things old as dirt and prob the issue

im only seeing one sensor on this tranny i thought there were two sensors?

I believe there is only one but im not 100 % sure on that one you can always try 1 size larger and just tap it in until it is fully seated in the head of the bolt.

ok so the turbine speed sensor ive found is on the main support INSIDE the trans. and it could possibly be torque converter lockup how would i test for this becuase im debating either send it to a shop of drop the trans myself with a tranny jack and replace whats needed if its complicated besides removing the tranny i may not do it myself but i cant afford more then say 1000 im also debating a used trans as it never shifted right to begin with always hard to get in gear andsuch

there was fingernail sized alum shavings in the fluid very few due to filter buuuut news i just heard was she checked it as i asked and it was low so drove it on low fluid to the parts place till she could get some verdict would prob be p0715 from torque converter going poof?

For $1000 you can get a used trans and torque converter and have it installed. I think I paid $1050 total for a used tranny/TC with 78K miles, new fluid, filters, seals and gaskets.
