Hello everyone I am new to this sight, but I am hoping someone can help me. I have a 1999 ford explorer and when the weather gets cold the theft light comes on and will not start. I took it to ford adn had a new key made and the pst bypassed and it worked for a while but it's cold again and it's up to it's same old tricks. Anyone have any idea that want cost lots of money? It' about to snow here and I really need to drive it and be assured that I want get straned in the cold.

Thank you.:exp:

I can't think of anything that would affect the theft system when subjected to cold except low battery voltage.

Out of curiosity what would happen if you try to jump start it from another vehicle?

When you say it won't start, will the truck even turn the engine or does it not even engage the starter?

Also is the theft light solid or is it blinking really fast?
