1999 front driveshaft

Ive had a 99 explorer for about 3 years now with a 4" trailmaster lift and ive never had a front driveshaft in it because I never got around to having one modified and didnt want to spend the money on the one from superlift. Ive been reading around on it here today and from what i understand I can use one from a 96 without modifying it. Just looking to see if someone can confirm this or am I wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

if you can find one from a '96 or early-97 with the double-cardan joint instead of CV, then yes it could easily be made to fit.

How? He'd still need an adapter at the transfer case end to go from a CV joint to a U-joint. I remember seeing them on here at one time, but I think I remember reading they were discontinued.

FYI the first gen front driveshafts are longer, i would look for one of those. But using one from a 96 would work as well since the actually have a slip yoke (i think)

der... yeah. Forgot about that.
either should work. 1st gen front shaft, or a DC from a 2nd gen (95 through early 97 model years).

Then get the NeapCo part.

Thanks for the help guys. I just picked up a superlift front shaft for a great price. FREE!! But thanks again for the help.
