So when i first bought this rig, the day i went to look at it i put it in 4 low and it would not disengage. i declined initially to buy the vehicle until the owner got it fixed. After leaving the guys house he called me about 20 mins later and said hey it just disengaged! I bought the rig and to this day over a year later have not one issue with it going in or out of 4wd.
So today the morning starts out snowy, all day im in and out of 4wd with no issues. I pull into my driveway tonight to find the 4WD low light on after climibing the hill near my house in auto 4. So i go to click it out, no go. So i unplugged the electronic shift motor and it disengages when i test drove it. Plug it back in and go to drive it and its stuck in 4wd again, not sure if HI or Low. But during this i can select 4 HI and the light comes on. But if i select 4 low the light does not come on. Also, while i was under the car i had my GF turn the selector with the key on and i did not hear anything noise or movement from the shift motor.
Truck has 172K on and im thinking my electronic shift motor took a poo poo. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.!
