Ok, Ive serached around and still dont have a for sure answer. Eibach makes a 2 inch drop spring for the 1st gen X. It says 2WD only though. Do these still work on the 4wd models as well?

Thanks

Josh

Yeah I got the beltech blocks in the back. Im down 3 inches in the rear, so the 2 inch beltech spring will do just fine up front. Your x is looking good. I like the look of that billet grill but a question, how do you get to the hood latch?

Do you have AIM, or yahoo messenger, maybe we could help each other out in this area. I see that dropping 1st gens isnt popular. But I did my days with the hondas, and now its time to be different.

yea i made an extension for the hood latch, so u just stick ur finger in the 3rd space and ur good

Stop! I dropped my 94 sport with the eibach springs and could not get the alignment right for nothing. I tried different cams and still could not fix the camber. Needless to say i sold them because of the trouble. Have yall had any luck with these springs because I think they are a freakin joke!

It's not a matter of there being a problem with the springs, its just that a 2 - 2.5" drop is pretty much gonna max out the adjustment range on any of the cams. I've heard of some people going with a 3" spring and getting the alignment real close, but every truck is a litle different. Also, you really need someone who's willing to take the time to align our trucks properly, its not the easiest, nor cheapest thing to do correctly.

On another note, while using a spring is a quick and fairly cheap way of getting 2" of drop, I would NOT recommend it as the first step on a 2wd truck. The loss of suspension travel, difficulty with alignment, and stiffer spring rate will make your ride pretty bad. I speak from experience on my 94 Ranger with Steeda springs and my 93 Ex with Eibach springs. Go with drop beams, you'll be much happier with your truck. Unfortunately, on a 4wd, springs are your only option, so if you really want it lowered you're going to have to deal with this stuff.
