I'm in the process of installing a 3" Body Lift on a first gen explorer (1993 EB) and I wasn't too sure of where the directions wanted me to disconnect the steering shaft. If someone could circle it on that picture or just describe I'd appreciate it.

My 93 looks a little different than yours does , but my extension went in at the connection closer to the firewall.

Yeah there was a bolt there before, I had taken it out just prior to the picture because I was pretty sure that was the correct bolt, but I wanted to be sure before moving past that. Was that the correct bolt?

By the way, i found I had to really get that extension part tight to keep it all snug, I think the extension was a little undersized, so you have to actually tighten it enough to bend the original part ( that you already took the bolt out of) otherwise it will move slightly..

How were you able to slide the lower shaft out of the bracket? My steering shaft doesn't give the slightest hint of being able to slide back out of it, any tips?

I think under the rubber is like a sliding mechanism that allows it to slide back and forth a little, I had to bang it back from the connection because it was kind of tight there but it does slide out of the way for you.
