1998 Ford Explorer Sport
I have read the entire post and still cannot find the answer to my issue. I have a 1998 explorer sport with 110,000 with the 5R55e. My only problem that I have is that when Im in 2nd gear I have to let off the gas for it to shift into 3rd at any RPM. I have replaced the number 2 shift solenoid and still does the same thing. please if you have any ideas it would be appreciated as I am going to sell it and do not want to bring the price down 1500 for a new tranny.

Thanks

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your post into a new thread. The 5R55E valve body rebuild diary is for reference only, and was not intended for specific problems. Did you check your bands to see if they are set correctly? A band might be broken if they can't be tightened to the proper torque.

Is the Check Engine light on? If so, I would read the OBD code to see
if the problem might be a sensor. If it's the notorious 2-3 shift flare, it
could be in the valve body.
