this is the only place I go for info on my baby....1st...my gas tank is making a "whining noise" when running...not having any problems with gas flow or running just that noise also my gas float is not working stuck on empty.........2nd..I plugged in my 4x4 switch on dash but wont ingauge just a "clicking" in the left rear inside...any help...thanks..love these forums.......

hi again...kept pushing 4x4 button still was clicking but 4x4 light came on couple of times..sometimes it would work...sometimes it would not...if this is any help

the whinning noise is your fuel pump, it should be making that noise. as far as the button not working try searching the drivetrain forum.

the whining noise from your fuel pump shouldn't be too loud when running, but it should be loud enough when it primes it before you start (when you turn the key to on, but not start)

my new fuel pump barely makes a noise at all, and my old bronco II's pump whines really high pitched.

when my last pump died in my explorer, it was whining for a while, but it still ran great. then the noise just went away and it died a few km later.

there is a resistance test you can do on the pump though, to see if its on the way out

as for the 4x4, make sure the connections to the 4x4 shift motor on the transfer case are tight, same on the switch too.
