Hey there, I'm finally getting around to lifting my ex. I've done my research and now I need some tips from the gurus on here :p I'm pretty set on doing a F-150 spring switch (attach 150 leaves to my main leaves) Things is, I have a 1st gen sport  haha, But seriously, how much would the rear end be lifted approximately, they are sagging quite a bit now. I think the sport has like 200 lbs less on the rear end, so that should do something. Also, I read somewhere on here that lifting the truck actually restores some lost stability due to the frame and body's center of gravity being closer together. To what extent is that true? Also between 2" and 4" what are your thoughts, I've got 31's on right now but eventually I'd like to regear to 4.10's with 33's. It's a daily driver and weekend warrior. Also, how would it look with 4" lift and 31? functionnaly and looks wise. Also, what do you suggest for the front, are spacers as good as new coils? can other than explorer coils be used? I going to be fabbing up the radius arm, axle brackets if I go 4"

Thanks a lot everyone. I promise pics and writeups :D

those leaves in the rear will give you about 2 inches of lift and give you a little bit of stability like you said especially if your springs are sagging now...if your main goal is to run 4.10's with 33's you'll need the 4"...plus the 31's will look too small with a 4" lift IMO...the 4" lift will 33's will be perfect...or you could just do the f-150 springs with spacers up front for an all around 2" and keep the 31's which would also look good...and new coils will be better than spacers if you wanna spend the money...you get what you pay for y'know...good luck.

Thanks a lot! another question what about other coil springs people are talking about like broncos, early broncos, f-150 that would give about 2" any suggestions?

2" skyjacker coils

I would just buy the 2" skyjacker lift.

I paid $195 shipped to my door from summit. (had $10 off though)

if you do a 4" lift go with 33's, it would look funny with 31's in my opinion :)

I agree get 2" lift coils and camber shims.

If you go any more then 2" you will need drop brackets.
