Hey All! I have 117k on the ex now and have begun to notice a noise similar to my old 93 that was diagnosed with bad lifters. Its only faintly noticeable when trailering my boat or climbing hills on the freeway. Are these V8's having the same trouble with lifters or may there be something else going on.

Thanks for the info!!

I would guess it is pinging - that is way more common on the V-8's. I have that myself, and have yet to find the solution. Happens going up hills, or pulling loads.

Lifter noise is heard best at idle - once you rev it up, it usually disappears.

Exhaust leaks make a ticking sound also, which is likely on v-8
unless, you have the cast manifolds
Check also for leaks on egr tube and rubber lines from egr tube to DPFE sensor.
Maybe have someone hold brakes while giving a little load while you listen on passenger side, under the hood.
