2000 Explorer abs issue i think

i been noticing that if I brake while hiting a bump or crack my abs kicks in. Could someone tell me why and could this be a bigger issue?

If the wheel bounces or instantaneously stalls when hitting the bump, the differential wheel speed can trigger the abs, so it may be perfectly normal from that point of view. What is the condition of your shocks?
