2000 Factory CD/Cassette Problem

Hey guys. I'm a member of s10forum but my parents are having trouble with their Explorer factory CD/Cassette player. Most of the time the display does not come on, but sometimes it does. I've heard it's a common problem, and I was wondering if there was anything short of buying a new radio that could be done to fix the problem. Can you just switch out the display?

I looked for a search button before I registered an assumed there wasn't one. I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
