- 2000 Ford Explorer XLT V6
Greetings all, I purchased a 2000 Ford Explorer V6 XLT (135K) about a year ago on craigslist. The seller failed to tell me a few things about the vehicle. It's my fault I should have paid more attention.
The truck was bouncing up and down and making clunking noises. I recently purchased some KYB shocks, stabilizer links and had them installed. I also did an oil change. The truck no longer bounces and there are no more clunking noises I forgot about the rear shocks which I will do soon.
The transmission hesitates going up a hill, the most I can do is 40MPH and some weird noises come from under the car. The truck feels ok on the highway.
The engine seems a tad sluggish at times.
There are two small rust holes in each rear door and the tail gate wont stay up.The rear struts mounts are gone, I have the struts but the mounts are rusted away.
The vehicle has a bad case of rust.
The muffler and or exhaust rattles...
The interior console that displays which direction you are going etc, does not turn on.
Any suggestions / advice to the above? I like the truck a lot. Thanks.
