2000 ford explorer
I have a 2000 ford explorer 4.0 SOHC thats been in 2 different shops and they cant pinpoint the problem , its seems like the spark plugs are getting flooded with gas anyhow the repair shop didnt know how to solve the problem and didnt want to waste their time trying to locate the problem so i towed the truck home (note: I drove the truck to the shop a few weeks prior) I charged the battery and it started right up for about 10 minutes and then it stalled and I couldnt get it to start again , if I wait a few days the plugs will dry up and I will be able to start it again. I have no idea as to why this is happening spark plugs were changed twice already. Please help

Thanks

Have you/shop checked injectors? Could be they are staying open longer than normal allowing more fuel than needed to enter cylinder. If you have access to a scan tool that can do a data stream, maybe try to watch the duty cycle of the injectors, maybe also check the cam signal. I'm just kind of rambling off the top of my head on what I would check.

fuel pressure damper?

Your vehicle has a returnless fuel system with a fuel pressure damper mounted on the fuel rail. The damper contains a flexible diaphragm with fuel on one side and manifold vacuum on the other. Eventually the diaphragm cracks and fuel is sucked into the manifold. To test the diaphragm first disconnect the vacuum hose from the damper. If fuel runs out then its probably failed. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the port and see if the damper will hold vacuum. If not, replace the damper. See What's that on the fuel rail?

Make sure the injectors arent stuck opened
