I am working on my grandsons 2000 Ranger. At first one of hoses on the "EGR" valve tube going to the "DFPE" was blowing off. We replaced the "DFPE" and it still kept happening. So we assumed the "EGR" was bad and we replaced it also. Now the truck won't go over 35 mph with the throttle all way to the floor. Also if we rev it up by hand the large hose blows off. Does anyone have any idea's of this issue? Post reply or email: scrootertrash@att.net

...x2 on the codes..

..and where in Cali are you located as others in your area may be of more help..;)

Cat converters are clogged up, the excess backpressure blows off the hoses.

SWETRID you were absolutely right we had both the catalytic converters replaced and the thing runs like a charm. The cost was $620.00 total.
Thank you very much for the right answer. Wish you luck with all.
Thanks again.
