2000 limited speedometer problem

My 2000 explorer limited speedometer will some times not work from start up. If i stop and turn off the motor and then restart it will work. if i am going 30mph and notice that the speedometer says 0 ijust switch the ignition off and on if in a safe place to do so then it will go up to about 60 and drop back to the correct speed. Help Please

The speedo sender is on the back axle, the same as the ABS speed sender.
Poke it, take it off and clean it, look at it sternly and see if that makes a difference.

Are you getting an ABS code?
