My 2000 won't start with out pushing the gas pedel in and then won't idle if I take my foot off. So I have to have my foot on pedel for it to stay running. If when starting it I don't press the gas pedel it just cranks and never starts. What is wrong here? I have not done anything to the engine besides a K&N FIPK2.
Thanks
Dylan

Disregard this post...I'm an idiot.

Clean the IAC. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may also be bad. Throttle cable may have stretched too.

If it idles better after it warms up AND you have the SOHC 6 popper, more likely than not, the lower intake mainfold gasket (o-rings) are bad. You'll need the upper intake manifold gaskets (o-rings) also and about 4 hours to fix it assuming you are: 1)mechanically inclined and 2)doing it yourself. The parts are less than $25 from Ford.
