2000 ranger [code p0402]

I own a 2000 ranger 3.0 flex. Pulled the code p0402 [egr excess flow]. The truck sometimes hesitates, stutters when accelerating. Going through town in 3rd gear you feel it allot. Does not do it all the time. Could this happen cause of the dpfe sensor [egr]? SDome one please help me.

They are know for goin bad. Cant say that is definately your problem, but the ford garage probably has a bunch in stock.

Side note; if the ford garage keeps alot of them in stock, they are a known problem.
