Good day! I have a 2000 XLS and have had stalling problms in the past. The truck would stall when idling. I came to find out that it was the idle air controller.
I took the part of and cleaned it well with brake cleaner and the problem seemed to stop. A while later the truck now seems to be hesitating when slightly accelerating. I do not notice it when Pressing firmly on the gas or accelerate heavily. I thought that it may have been the fuel filter, so I replaced it and it still happens. The truck has 80k on it. Also, it is a 6 cylinder.
Could the idle air controller be causing this even though it is not at "idle"? I tried using fuel injector cleaner and installing a new air cleaner. Most shops here want to charge a minimum of $100 to look at it and they cannot guaruntee that it will be fixed.
Any help would be appreciated!
