Can someone provide any advice? I was driving in 2WD yesterday on the hway when all of a sudden a massive claking started below my seat. I went underneath and noticed the front drive shaft had some backlash in it (+/- a few degrees), but could not figure how a massive clanking could come from there when I was in 2 WD. It got so bad I had to pull over. I almost thought the shaft came off. then it went away. Then it happened a second time.
I was thinking of slowing diassembling the front drive shaft/transfer case area to troubleshoot.
