at about 30 mph or so, i start to hear a moaning noise from what i think is the front end. the pitch increases as the mph increases. if i put the truck in neutral while driving, there is no change.
however, if i step on the gas pedal and then let off, it disappears for a split second, kind of like if you were trying to shift a manual transmission without the clutch, that split second its disengaged when you let off the gas.
trans fluid exchanged at 105k miles.
i'm thinking it has something to do with the front differential, front driveshaft or font CV joints?
does the front driveshaft turn when its in auto?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
its a 97 explorer xlt 4x4 with 120k miles on it.
