Hello all,
First of all, let me say thank you to all those involved with making this website a success. The amount of information here is invaluable!
Our 2001 Explorer got an oil change about a month ago. The oil change guys indicated the transfer case is leaking a small amount. I put a piece of cardboard on the floor of our garage and it does indeed leak a small amount, perhaps 5-10 drops a day or so is my best estimate.
They recommended I find a local mechanic who can replace the transfer case gaskets/seals. Does this sound accurate, and if so, does anyone recommend a mechanic in the North Dallas area? Thanks a bunch and appreciate any comments/suggestions!
