I have duals on my 4.0.....manifolds to cat(i think its still on there) to a single inlet muffler with dual outlet into 2 tailpipes....it is deffinitly louder than stock, does that setup really give me any HP gain...mind you i bought the truck with this setup on it...
Thanks
Nick

i depends how big your runing the tubing. if its too big you could lose power.

yea its deffinitly... 2 3/4 or 3" tubing...i think once i get enough money im gonna have it put back to stock exhaust cuz its gettin kinda loud and its not a v8 so yea not as nice of sound and it produces alot of annoying vibration....if anybody is interested in the tubing i can ask the guys at the shop if i can still have it since it was professionally done...PM me and let me know...its for a 94 EX 4x4....

You might have gained a couple HP but lost more in torque. 3" tubing on a 4.0 is too much....you want to have a little backpressure in the pipes.

dual exhaust.

i have a 92 ranger, ext cab, stx 4.0, the duals really do make a difference. now for the sound, that depends mainly on the muffler and like other people on here had said about the pipe size. i have a cat back custom system created by me, couple guys at work and a pipe bender. stock is 2 1/4, i went with 2 1/2 with a flowmaster delta 44 dual outlet, and 3 inch tips angled out the back in 45 degree behint the wheels. has a deep sound, not real loud but enough to know that theres duals there. the best part was it only cost me 64 bux and that was for the muffler.
