2001 ford explorer trans. issues

I have a 01 ford explorer and I am currently having some shifting issues, the problem is isthat when I take off every now and then when my rpm's hit 2500 it. jerks until it gets to 3000 and I don't know what the problem is I'm not a mechanic either I would just like some advice on what it may be or what I could do! somebody help!!!

sounds a bit lik torque converter to me.

You could try to do a total transmission fluid change along with a new filter, if you haven't serviced the transmission in a while.

Sometimes all it takes is a piece of debris floating around in the oil, or a gunked up tranny filter to hang the transmission up.
