2001 overhead console

Is ther any differance between a 1998 Over head console (compass, temp, etc) and the one used in 2001s?

thats pretty much wha tI thought. I have one available to me and I'm goign ot go get it anyway, but if it is better in soem way I'll use dit for myself..
