- 2001 Ranger 4x4
Hi all, I have finally signed up after getting annoyed by the box while conducting research for my 2001 Ranger 4x4 5.0 Swap. The truck currently has 192,000 miles on the 4.0 and M5ODR1HD, and is body lifted 3" and torsion cranked 1.5" on 33x12.5x15 Grabber AT2's. I have a 1998 Mountaineer with 218,000 on the clock and the 5.0 AWD that I am using as my donor. I'm not sure what my plans are for the build are right now. I want power to rip up the dunes, while keeping the gas mileage manageable (it's currently my DD and I go to college 180 miles from home [but I'm already used to 15-17 mpg, so hopefully it won't be too much lower] ). I would appreciate any direction as far as rebuilding. I am newer to engine tech, but am not afraid of tearing in.
I appreciate any response!
And here's my truck "build" thread http://www.fordrangerforum.com/project-logs/136599-zachs-2001-xlt-4x4-build.html
