2001 SOHC cam sensor replacement question

Is there a special synch tool that I will need to install a cam sensor on my 2001 SOHC sport? I know the older Explorers needed a tool but not sure on my 2001.

I believe a 2001 V6 does have the synchronizer assembly. If you buy the Dorman replacement it comes with the tool in the box. I have seen some complaints about quality with these, although I have not had any problems with the ones I have done. I also found this for lining it up without the tool:

SOHC engines dont have a cam sync. Just a cam position sensor on the drivers side valve cover. No special tool needed to replace.
