i am replacing the cam sensor/syncronizer assembly in my 95 x with a salvage yard one. my question is, will the old style (95 and older) synchro and the newer style (96 and newer) synchro interchange? i know the plugs and sensors are different, but was just wondering if everything below is the same, like the diameter of the housing, length and gear location. if it ever starts to lock up again, it would be nice to upgrade to the newer style because they are easier to find...and much cheaper.
