Using the window power switches (Main and Passenger side) the power window goes down fine, but it will not go up in normal operation.

Switch is ok, I swapped it with rear(good working switch), no change.
Motor is ok, unplugged connector closest to motor and applied reverse 12volts window closed fine.

With voltage meter on switch terminals (no schematic) but measuring any voltage applied while pressing switch. It puts out + 12 volts in one direction but at the time I think it should be -12 volts it's only -0.8.

What next to check, is there a switching relay? If so does anyone know location?

Thanks

Jake

Power to all windows, except the rear slider, goes through the drivers master switch. The window motors function up & down by reversing polarity to them. A common problem in these vehicles is a broken wire in the boot from the drivers door to the body. Check the TN/LB & WH/YE circuits between the passenger door switch and the drivers door master switch with an ohm meter to verify those wires are not broken. I sent you the schematics and diagnostics for the windows. There is no relay that would prevent a single window from functioning in a single direction.

ncranchero,

A schematic/Docs (Just downloaded them) would be great! And I appreciate the information.

Thank You!

Jake, did you ever figure out the problem?

Hi joecrna,

Sorry have not had the time to work on this. I just left the window closed. I'm guessing ncranchero is correct and there's a broken ground some where.

Good Luck

Jake
