2001 Sport Trac Radio Problem

Hi all,

Just got here here in reference to my dad's 2001 Sport Trac. Seems that the rear radio will take control of the radio when the headphones are inserted. All the speakers go off and there is no control of the front headunit. Everything is controlled from the rear. Take the headphones out and everything works fine. Anyone know what may have caused this? He took it to radio shack and they couldn't figure it out. Thanks in advance.

That's a good question. Many trucks have that system, including mine. I haven't used the rear controls, I don't know how that works. Someone with more experience with those should help. Good luck,

Rear Control of Radio

If you hit "3" and "5" at the same time, this will release control of the speakers to the driver. You will see the little headphone icon disappear. This should take care of that. You have a newer truck than I do, so you might actually have a speaker on/off switch. Look in your manual.
