Ok, so this is what happened from start till now.
First my truck would not start sometimes, turns out it was just a bad grounding cable, so i got a replacement, go to hook the batter back up, but I put the connectors on the wrong terminals and the horn starts blowing, sparks and the whole 9 yards that comes with being a dumbass. I replace the battery thats now melted, and the connectors, and a main switch/fuse/relay (im not a good car person so forgive me if I don't know what its called.) car cranks everything works again, for some reason my reverse lights decide to start working for the first time since I bought the turd. Everything is fine except now my radio will not work. The buttons on the radio light up, but the display will not come on and nothing plays, i pressed buttons and nothing still. I figure ok, maybe my radio just blew its fuse. I take it out to look, and of course factory radio = no fuse. So at this point, "FML my car radio shorted out, guess its time for that aftermarket upgrade!" I just got it in the mail today, really nice piece with everything I want in a radio right? Well I buy the install kit. I buy the wire harness adapter thing. I connect the wires up to everything perfecting matching the colors, I have a left over black wire with a white strip on it, not sure where it goes, and another wire that I just dont remember the color of. Finish that and I go to work for the next hour cutting out the factory radio's plastic frame thing in my truck, and now its done. so yea, now everything is done buy myself according to the instructions because I do not have 50 bucks that the local radio shop wants to even look at it. but anywho, i connect it, to the radio, and plug in the antenna, it has bluetooth (**** yea!) so i plug in the mic as well, stick it in the dash, Turn the truck over and not a damn thing. Basically the same thing as the old stock radio just no lighting up because that plug is no longer used. I humbly bring my problems to you because you guys are the best, and if there is any other info you would like I am an open book. Thanks

Welcome to the forum,

The stock radio does in fact have a fuse, but it's in the fuse panel, not on the radio itself.
Sounds to me like that's blown.

Check the fuses for Audio System and Radio.

Oh yes, I have been there and replaced that. I have every fuse in the truck up, I can't honestly say the same thing about the switches or whatever they are called because I have no idea how to test them.

EDIT: i tested the fuses again because why not right? and my tester said they were good. But at this point I felt almost compelled to look at them. so I took out 29, low and behold it was broke, put it in tested it again, still said it was a good fuse. Needless to say I threw the tester device I had out and I feel like an idiot for not doing what I knew I should have done to start with. Now if only I could figure out how to control my amp/subs from my radio. Thank you DjDom! I are retard.

Aha, no problem. :)
What's wrong with the subs and amp? Need help setting them up, or?

No not really, because it is a new radio I was just trying to mess with the controls to make them sound the best. I am fixing the truck because it has some mechanical stuff (water pump going out, 2 lug bolts snapped, the annoying squeak that I'm sure most explorer owners know about, and something else wrong that hasnt affected anything but the engine makes a weird sound as I get up to speed) and I am going to take care of that before I overhaul the audio/inside of the truck. It has 189k miles on it, but honestly an explorer is my dream veichle so I want to do what I can to make it last forever, and eventually one day make it into something I am proud to drive and brag about. It just sucks trying to go to school and fix a car on minimum wage budget.

Yeah, deal with mechanical issues before messing with things for pleasure. :P
