2002 Airbag light flashing

My 2002 Explorer gets the airbag light flashing after being started for 4 minutes. After flashing for 1 minute, it stays on.

I'd appreciate getting feedback on probable causes and probable estimated cost to fix at Ford dealership.

Check the airbag light as soon as you start the Ex.

It will flash a number of times, pause, flash a number of times again. That is the code you are looking for.

For instance, let's say this is the pattern:

• Flashes 3 Times
• Pauses
• Flashes 4 Times

That is Light Flash Code 34.

Once we have the correct code, we can better assist you in getting it sorted.

having the same issue in my 02. I've noticed also more times then not I cannot get my seat belt into the reciever to lock. I have to press the release button to be able to actually get the seat belt to fit and lock into place. could this be the issue? do I have a bad lock and release mechanism? I will soon add what code I get with the flashes buy after the initial flashes it stays solid for the entirety of my ride. thank you in advance
