I recently replaced the front pads and rotors on my '02 explorer. I also replaced the fluid being very careful not to let the MC run dry. The way I did it was to bleed off the fluid at the calipers and refill the MC a little a time. The problem is I have very spongy brakes and the ABS system does not work. Low speed stops are fine but at high speed they are very bad, taking way too long to come to a stop. I'm sure it's probably air in the system but don't know how to get it out. Anyone have experience with this year and model? Thanks

How so you bleed your brakes. On certain vehicles the brakes should be bled in an X pattern, rather than the one further from the MC -> closest to the MC. I am not sure which way the explorer should be bled.

I bled furthest away from MC to closest. RR, LR, RF, LF.

Don't let the door hit y'ass on the way out!

I was going to add a nice little comment about how you may have airlocked the ABS unit and that it would need to be bled with a scan tool using a specific procedure. But since you're not patient enough to wait till someone that had the knowledge of your particular problem came in to read it, you can go pound sand.

BTW, you're welcome.:thumbdwn:
