BrooklynBay put you in the wrong forum. The 2002 2-doors are a Gen 2 platform. But I looked it up for ya anyway because I used to have a 2-door Sport that I still miss.
The manual says it's under the hood on those. You gotta remove the air cleaner and then move the speed controller (one bolt and one connector) and the washer tank out of the way. The resister is under that stuff attached to the air duct near the fan. Pull the connector off and take out the 2 screws holding it in.
Which section would you suggest that this thread should go into? He has a stock 2 door 2002 Explorer. The stock 95-01 section is only for vehicles up to 01.
Hey I was just teasing you a little BrooklynBay. I shoulda put a smiley in there. Sorry if I seemed like a butt. You are doing a great job directing traffic here. Thank you.
If you look at the description for this forum you see: Stock 2002 - 2005 Explorers Questions related to non-modified 2002 - 2005 Explorers and Mountaineers. Sport Trac and Sport use the 1995-2001 forum.
That would be the best place for the 2-door Sport questions. He really doesn't have a Gen 3 (2002-2005) truck.
I didn't notice that line until you pointed it out. Why would the Sport Trac go into that section when there is a separate Sport Trac section? Another thing that was confusing is that Ford never made a 2006 Sport Trac.
