Original owner SOHC V6 240k miles. Wife drove to work and came back a couple hours later to truck just turning over. Had it towed home. Pulled three wires off plugs and all 3 sparked. Checked fuses and relays. Jumped fuel pump relay. Changed fuel filter. Checked Inertia switch. Dropped tank and replaced entire fuel pump assembly. Not hearing the hum when the key is turned on. Still just turning over. PATS indicating normal. Nothing registering on tach when cranking. Cycled the key and a small amount of fuel ran out of schrader valve. Not a stream. Any ideas? I've put a lot of hours and money into this issue. Would a diagnostic be the way to go now? I'm at a loss.

It seems like your replacement fuel pump may be bad if you aren't getting full pressure.

It's a brand new Delphi:dunno: Can the inertia switches go bad? It wasn't ever tripped.

I can't imagine one failing in a way that it would allow any voltage to pass through at all. It's either on or off.

Rick is probably right, I doubt it’s a failed inertia switch. You can check it for continuity or voltage with an ohm meter. Have you swapped the relays around?

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer sport that needs a new fuel pump. I have tha fuel tank down but the electrical connector for the fuel pump seems to be between the body and the frame. Has anyone felt with this issue?
