Okay so I just picked up a super clean 02 Explorer XLT with the 4.0L V6 about a month ago. I have noticed some odd things with the trans lately. Firstly whenever I put the vehicle in D or R it takes a couple seconds for the trans to move from a neutral state to D or R. I dont think this is normal.. Most auto trans's I have driven are almost instant in changing. Also occasionally it will shift really hard. Almost feels like a slip but I dont think it is. Then also the other day I am pretty sure it slipped on me. I was making a wide left turn when i didnt feel much power to the wheels. I looked down at my tach and it was at 5000 and then i all of a sudden felt a thunk and it dropped down to 1500 and it felt like i had power again. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem is. I do still have a warranty on it too so.
