Does anyone know what color the wires are that go to the rear speakers in a 2002 explorer? I want to put a line out converter to run an amp, and I want it mounted behind the radio. I'm just too lazy right now to take both rear door panels off to look. Hoping someone knows or has a diagram.

Oh, and YES, I'm using the stock headunit with an amp and a sub. YES I know that it isn't optimal for sound quality. And, YES I know I should buy an aftermarket deck. With that said, I think I'll keep the stock deck.

Ryan1984, Have you taken the rear panels off? And do you have any advice on the process? My rear left speaker seems to be blown or possibly a loose wire. I've never had a good experience when it comes to removing door panels. It seems that a clip or mount always breaks or that it is never as tight as it was before I pull it apart. Any advice or "how to's" whould be appreciated.

I recently ran an aftermarket amp to my factory HU, had a few problems but that was due to a faulty sub and amp I bought on e-bay. I plan to post full picks tomorrow morning showing how I ran everything on my 04, please stay tuned.

I posted a thread with the pics of my install. It is:

I bought a $29 FM modulator at Best Buy and all I had to do was tap into four wires. I used the rear +/- wires, and connected them using splice in connectors from Home Depot. The amp kit had everything I needed. Contrary to what everyone says it doesnt sound too bad at all as long as all you are interested in using your sub for is bass. I choose to go this route because I did not want to buy a new head unit. If you have anymnore questions let me know I have more pics available. The best info though is in the wireing diagram toypaseo and gsx220 gave me, much thanks to them!
